Kassette mit 209 Original-Photographien (meist Silbergelantineabzüge), wovon 9 echte Photopostkarten, überwiegend mit datierten ausführlichen Legenden verso in Bleistift, sowie 2 zugehörige Notizhefte. Ca. 1911-1912. 8°. (Hefte) und ca. 26 x 19,5 x 6 cm (Kassette) bzw. ca. 18 x 23,5 - ca. 4,5 x 7 cm (Photos). Karierte Oktavhefte mit Leinenrücken und hs. Umschlagtitel bzw. Kartonkassette bezogen u.a. mit blindgepr. Papier, dies. mit hs. Titel auf montiertem Etikett "Abyssinie Epreuves papier" (Ecken und Kanten etw. bestoßen, berieben u. etw. fleckig).

Äthiopien

Photographie - Photographen – Einzigartige Sammlung von 209 Originalfotografien, aufgenommen während einer Vermessungsreise vor Fertigstellung der ersten äthiopischen Eisenbahnstrecke von Dschibuti nach Addis Abeba. - Die Strecke wurden zwischen 1894 und 1917 erbaut, ist heute großteils verfallen und nur noch als Teilstrecken zwischen Dschibuti nach Dire Dawa in Betrieb. - Die meist scharfen und klaren Photos in den Größen ca. 18 x 23,5 cm (4), ca. 13 x 17 cm (134), ca. 6,5 x 9 cm (55) und weitere 16 von ca. 10,5 x 15 cm bis ca. 4,5 x 7 cm, darunter 7 Abzüge ca. 9 x 14 cm, gedruckt auf Photopostkartenpapier. Abgebildet sind Szenen auf unbefestigten Straßen in einem Lastwagen, beim Überqueren von Flüssen usw. Porträts der Reisenden, darunter Armand Savouré, Berater von Kaiser Menelik II., Porträts der Einheimischen und interessante Ansichten von Addis Abeba (u.a. Stadttore, Straßen, den Marktplatz und die katholische Mission), Harar, Dire Dawa, Hurso, Erer, Gota, Mulu, Dschibuti, Aden u. a. - Die beiden Notizhefte betitelt "Voyage abyssinien par Ferret & Galinier 1847 Resumé" bzw. "Abyssinie" umfassen 58 (49 ausgefüllte) bzw. 48 (44) S. mit Zusammenfassungen von P. Ferret und J. Galiniers "Voyage en Abyssinie" (Paris, 1847-48, 3 Bände & Atlas) und E. De Felcourts "L'Abyssinie: Agriculture, Chemin de Fer" (Paris, 1911). Ergänzend finden sich Beilagen, u.a. 3 handgezeichnete Karten aus de Felcourts "L'Abyssinie" sowie und einen großen handgezeichneten Plan eines Teils von Äthiopien aus Ferret und Galiniers "Voyage en Abyssinie". - Einige der Bilder an den Rändern leicht gewellt und leicht verblasst, insgesamt wohlerhaltene, äußerst umfangreiche und emerkenswerte Sammlung. - Detailierte Aufstellung der Photomotive auf Wunsch.
