Dekorative Graphik - Karten – Gedruckt bei Frederick de Wit, Amsterdam. - Die vorliegende Karte zeigt den gesamten Verlauf des Rheins in einer dekorativ angelegten, aus zwei Segmenten zusammengesetzten Darstellung. Der auf der linken Kartusche genannte Titel "Totius Fluminis Rheni Novissima Descriptio ex officina F. de Wit" verweist auf den Amsterdamer Verleger und Kartographen Frederick de Wit, dessen Rhein-Karten im späten 17. Jahrhundert zu den repräsentativen kartographischen Blättern dieser Gattung zählen. In dichten topographischer Ausführung werden die am Strom gelegenenen Territorien, Städte und Landschaften mit hervorgehobenen Grenzziehungen. - Punktuell auf Unterlage und in Passepartout montiert. Blatt an den Rändern leicht unregelmäßig, verso vereinzelt mit partiellen Flecken. Insgesamt sehr gut.
Prints and Engravings - Maps – Coloured copperplate engraving, composed of two plates. With an allegorical cartouche and maritime scenery. Mounted in places on backing and in a passe-partout. The sheet is slightly irregular at the edges, with occasional partial stains on the reverse. Overall in very good condition. - Printed by Frederick de Wit, Amsterdam. - This map depicts the entire course of the Rhine in a decorative composition comprising two segments. The title given in the left-hand cartouche, 'Totius Fluminis Rheni Novissima Descriptio ex officina F. de Wit', refers to the Amsterdam publisher and cartographer Frederick de Wit, whose maps of the Rhine in the late 17th century are among the most representative cartographic works of their kind. In a detailed topographical rendering, the territories, towns and landscapes situated along the river are depicted with clearly marked boundaries.
