Dekorative Graphik - Ansichten – Blatt Nummer 13 von insgesamt 52 Blättern von Rugendas zu den napoleonischen Kriegen. Der vorliegende Druck stellt die Belagerung von Danzig da, die am 19. März 1807 begann und am 24. Mai 1807 mit dem Sieg der Franzosen beendet wurde. Die Aquatinta des deutschen Kunstverlegers und Historienmalers zeigt die nächtliche Beschießung der Stadt, welche bereits in Flammen steht. - Ränder leicht gebräunt, leicht fleckig. Insgesamt gut erhaltene, kontrastreiche Aquatinta.

Prints and Engravings - Views – Poland - Gdansk - Old colored aquatint on wove paper. - Sheet number 13 of a total of 52 sheets by Rugendas on the Napoleonic Wars. This print depicts the siege of Danzig, which began on March 19, 1807, and ended on May 24, 1807, with the victory of the French. The aquatint by the German art publisher and history painter shows the nighttime bombardment of the city, which is already in flames. - Edges slightly browned, slightly stained. Overall, a well-preserved, high-contrast aquatint.
