Stammbuch des Maurits Wolter Koch mit Einträgen aus der Zeit an der Schule der Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine zu Neuwied. Mit 20 Einträgen, 7 Bleistift- u. 1 Federzeichnung u. 3 Aquarellen. Beverwijk, Neuwied u.a., 1854-1861. Lose Blätter mit Goldschnitt (ca. 7,5 x 13,5 cm) in Stammbuchkassette. Quer-8°. Rotes HLdr. d. Zt. mit goldgepr. Fileten, Eckfleurons u. Namen "M. Koch" (gering berieben) in marmor. Pp.-Schuber d. Zt. (berieben u. beschabt).
Liber Amicorum
Manuskripte und Urkunden – Maurits Wolter Koch (1838 Amsterdam - 1896 Frankfurt a.M.) studierte Chemie in München, war verh. mit Anna Maria Albertina Gastell (1847-1916), und soll auch in Wien gelebt haben. 1854 wohnte er noch offiziell in der Keizersgracht 336 in Amsterdam. 1878 wurde er als Moritz Walter Koch eingedeutscht und findet sich im Frankfurter Adressbuch als Gesellschafter der M.W. Koch & Co in der Kaiserstraße 16. Zudem war er Komannditist des "General-Anzeiger für Leipzig und Umgebung u.nd 1893 Gründer u. Bankier für die "Electricitäts Aktiengesellschaft vormals W. Lahmeier & Cie., Frankfurt a.M.", und stand mit dem deutschen Verleger Julius Baedeker in Kontakt. - Mit Einträgen (dt., engl., niederländ., frz., italien. (1)) meist aus Neuwied, außerdem aus Frankfurt, Laubach u. Wiesbaden u.a. von: Frank Browne aus Brixton, Georg Freudenberg,, J.D. Schultz van Haegen, B. Holmes, A. Meyrat, J. Mispelblom Beyer, G. Nacciarone (1831-1929?, Maler?) aus Neapel, H.H. Panrucker, Heinrich Theodor Verbeek, L.D. Weber aus Weber. - Die Zeichnungen u. Aquarelle zeigen u.a.: Ansicht bei Mondnacht, bäuerlicher Szene (G.E.G. van Maanen), "blutiger Nathan" (W. Strong), Napoleon (R. Gibbs), Schiff mit Wal (Edmund Haslehust), Ansicht Schloss Monrepos (Alfred Haslehust aus Ilford), 2 Portraits (1 sign. A. Koch, ein antikisierendes sign. Pluggen).
Manuscripts – Liber amicorum of Maurits Wolter Koch with entries from his time at the Moravian Church school in Neuwied. With 20 entries, 7 pencil drawings, 1 ink drawing and 3 watercolours. Loose sheets with gilt edges in contemp. red half leather box with gilt stamped fillets, corner fleurons and name 'M. Koch' (slightly rubbed) in contemp. marbled cardboard slipcase (rubbed and chafed). - Maurits Wolter Koch (1838 Amsterdam - 1896 Frankfurt am Main) studied chemistry in Munich, was married to Anna Maria Albertina Gastell (1847-1916), and is also said to have lived in Vienna. In 1854, he was still officially residing at Keizersgracht 336 in Amsterdam. In 1878, he was Germanised as Moritz Walter Koch and is listed in the Frankfurt address book as a partner of M.W. Koch & Co at Kaiserstrasse 16. He was also a limited partner of the 'General-Anzeiger für Leipzig und Umgebung' and, in 1893, founder and banker for the "Electricitäts Aktiengesellschaft vormals W. Lahmeier & Cie., Frankfurt am Main", and was in contact with the German publisher Julius Baedeker. - With entries (German, English, Dutch, French, Italian (1)) mostly from Neuwied, but also from Frankfurt, Laubach and Wiesbaden, including: as listed above. - The drawings and watercolours depict, among other things: view by moonlight, peasant scene (G.E.G. van Maanen), 'Bloody Nathan' (W. Strong), Napoleon (R. Gibbs), ship with shale (Edmund Haslehust), view of Monrepos Castle (Alfred Haslehust from Ilford), 2 portraits (1 signed A. Koch, one antique-style signed Pluggen).

A pickup of this work is possible in our premises at Potsdamer Str. 16, 14163 Berlin by appointment. If you wish a shipment of the work, please contact us for a consultation and shipping calculation. Framed tickets are shipped exclusively by a shipping company due to the risk of breakage. Postal shipping is only carried out at the express request and risk of the buyer.
