Contemp. half leather (rubbed, missing parts in the cover, ends of spine torn, ties only partially preserved). - Contains recipes for fish, meat and desserts as well as cakes and tarts, including: Spanish stockfish, carp loin, carp in Bohemian sauce, pike with mussels, partridges with oysters, 'jellied ox feet', 'pork drumsticks', 'to be boiled in must', as well as instructions for preparing suckling pig, cabbage, stuffed artichokes, rice, crayfish, brain, bitter oranges, milk dishes, doughnuts, sugar grapes, shortcrust pastry, rusks, lemon and almond cookies, cakes, mousses, etc. - Front and back covers stained and water-stained, page edges partially waterstained and foxed, otherweise well preserved.
