The Ports, Harbours, Watering-Places, And Coast Scenery of Great Britian. Illustrated by views taken on the spot by W. H. Bartlett. With descriptions by William Beattie. 2 Bände. Mit 2 illustrierten Titeln 123 Tafeln im Stahlstich. London, Virtue, 1842. 4°. Maroquin d. Zt. (etikettiert J. Brook, Huddersfield) über vier Bünden mit reicher, mittels Fileten gerahmter und gegliederter floraler Vergoldung auf Deckel, Rücken und Innenkanten, umseitigen Goldschnitt und Lesezeichenband (teils beschabt, an den Ecken und Kanten etwas berieben und bestoßen).

Geographie und Reisen – Umfangreiches, reich illustriertes Werk mit malerischen Ansichten verschiedener englischer, schottischer und walisischer Häfen. Die kräftig, kontrastreich und detailverliebt in Stahl gestochenen Tafeln nach Zeichnungen von W. H. Bartlett je mit vorgebundenen Seidenhemdchen. - Taf. "Berwick, Lighthouse, from the Pier" wie meist nicht eingebunden. - Erster fliegender Vorsatz mit hs. Besitzervermerk. Etwas gebräunt, teils gering stockfleckig, insgesamt gut erhaltenes Exemplar im wohlgestalteten Meistereinband.
Geography and Travel – With 2 additional steel engraved title pages and 123 steel engraved plates. Bound in skilfull contemporary morocco (labelled J. Brook, Huddersfield). - Extensive, richly illustrated work with picturesque views of various English, Scottish and Welsh harbours, ports and coastal sceneries. The bold, contrasting and detailed steel engravings based on drawings by W. H. Bartlett, each with a silk cover. - Plate 'Berwick, Lighthouse, from the Pier' not bound in, as is usually the case. - First front fly-leaf with owner's inscription. Somewhat browned, some minor foxing, overall well-preserved copy in a beautifully designed master binding.
