Naturwissenschaften – Selten. - The Useful Cabinet war eine kurzlebige Monatszeitschrift der Newengland Association of Inventors and Patrons of Useful Arts, deren Präsident Benjamin Dearborn war. Sie enthielt kurze Artikel zu physikalischen und mathematischen Fragen, Patenten und Werkzeugen. - Die Tafeln zeigen eine Maschine zum Schroten von Mais (Corn Sheller), Instrumente zur Ziehung eines Zahns, Gerätschaft der Feld Artillerie (Cobb's Field Piece), einen Kamin (Franklin's Fire Place) und ein mechanisches Butterfass (Glass Churn). - Vorsätze erneuert, teils unaufgeschnitten, unbeschnitten, papierbedingt gebräunt und teils stockfleckig.

Natural Sciences – Physics. - Vol. I. For the Year 1808 (= everything published). With 5 engraved plates. Later cardboard with label to spine. - Rare. - The Useful Cabinet was a short-lived monthly journal of the New England Association of Inventors and Patrons of Useful Arts, of which Benjamin Dearborn was president. It contained short articles on physical and mathematical questions, patents and tools. - The plates show a machine for shelling corn, instruments for extracting a tooth, field artillery equipment (Cobb's Field Piece), a fireplace (Franklin's Fire Place) and a glass churn. - Endpapers renewed, partly uncut, untrimmed, browned due to paper and somewhat foxed.
