Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne

Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – 3 works. Each woodcut on Fabriano wove paper (with watermark). Each signed, dated and numbered. - Heiner Thiel is a German sculptor and curator who belongs to the Concrete Art movement and is best known for his sculptural works, mostly made of aluminium. His objects, often square or freely curved concave aluminium plates, are anodised in bright colours. The interplay of the material and the monochrome surface creates a virtual colour space with great depth. His rare woodcuts are based on the concept of his sculptures. Fine, geometrically composed line drawings create a spatiality in the opaque, finely structured black surface that has just as fascinating an effect of depth as the artist's sculptural works. - One sheet with small studio mark. Otherwise very good. Brilliant, exceptionally clear impressions of the reduced forms in black with a clearly defined printed edge and wide margins.
