Paper slightly wavy due to technique, occasional pale handling marks, slight traces of atelier on verso. Overall very good. - Stefan Szczesny's works from 1980, in particular his paintings in mixed media on paper, reflect a central moment in his artistic development. In this phase, characterised by a critical examination of post-modernism, Szczesny searched for new forms of expression beyond the conceptual rigour of the 1970s. The works created on paper show a gestural, spontaneous approach that emphasises both the physical presence of the painting nude and a return to figurative and mythological motifs.
