Amerikanische Moderne – Provenienz: Privatsammlung, Berlin. - "Es ist wie eine Therapie für mich und beschäftigt meinen Geist, wenn ich keine Musik mache", sagte Miles Davis einmal über seine Kunst. Ab den 1980er Jahren füllte er Skizzenbücher mit lebhaften Filzstiftzeichnungen - mit Figuren und Gesichtern, die mit kraftvoller Sinnlichkeit dargestellt und manchmal auf wenig mehr als Augen und Lippen reduziert waren.

Lively composition with a nearly surrealistic impression. - Provenance: Private collection, Berlin. - "It's like therapy for me, and it keeps my mind occupied when I'm not playing music" Miles Davis once said of his art. From the 1980s onward, he filled sketchbooks with vibrant felt-tip drawings-with figures and faces, rendered with powerful sensuality-sometimes reduced to little more than eyes and lips.
