Ice Cream Desserts A. 1976. Farbaquatintaradierung und Vernis mou auf cremefarbenem Arches-Velin (mit Wz.). 34 x 54 cm (57 x 76,5 cm). Monogrammiert und nummeriert. - Mit minimaler Anbräunung im äußersten Blattrand. Insgesamt sehr gut. Prachtvoller, malerische Werte umsetzender Druck mit Rand, Schöpfrand oben und unten.

Petersburg Press, London/New York. - Unten mittig mit dem Copyright-Stempel des Künstlers. - Der malerische, vielfarbige Effekt dieses Werks wird durch den Druck "à la poupée" erzielt, bei dem mehrere Farben gleichzeitig auf die Druckplatte aufgetragen werden können. Oldenburg druckte zunächst in Braun und trug dann auf die zweite Platte frei Gelb, Grün, Violett, Blau und Hellviolett auf, wodurch der locker erscheinende Pastellduktus entstand.

Pop Art – Aquatint and soft ground etching in colours on off-white Arches wove paper (with watermark). Monogrammed and numbered. - With minimal browning in the outer margins. Very good overall. Splendid, picturesque-like impression with margins, deckle edge at top and bottom. - One of 50 copies. - Printed and published by Petersburg Press, London/New York. - With the artist's copyright stamp at bottom centre. - The painterly, mulitcoloured effect of this work is achieved by printing "à la poupée", in which multiple colours can be applied to the plate for printing at one time. Oldenburg first printed in brown and for the second plate freely applied yellow, green, purple, blue and light purple, producing an array of loosely sketched pastel confections.
