Insgesamt sehr gut. Brillanter Druck mit ausgesprochen weicher, texturierter Wirkung, die Farbe frisch und intensiv.

Galerie Heiner Friedrich, München 1971. - Die sechsteilige Edition, aus der das vorliegende Blatt stammt, geht auf Fotografien zurück, die Gerhard Richter 1969 auf den Kanarischen Inseln aufnahm und anschließend in Form von Heliogravuren veröffentlichte. Anstatt die fotografische Vorlage eins zu eins zu reproduzieren, verwandelt Richter das Motiv in eine von Unschärfe und atmosphärischer Dichte geprägte Bildwelt. Die Heliogravur wird dabei zum Mittel der Verfremdung: Die präzise Technik erlaubt eine malerisch wirkende Auflösung der Konturen, wodurch sich eine stille, fast traumhafte Stimmung entfaltet.

Galerie Heiner Friedrich, Munich 1971. - The six-part edition from which this sheet originates is based on photographs taken by Gerhard Richter in the Canary Islands in 1969 and subsequently published in the form of heliogravures. Instead of reproducing the photographic model one-to-one, Richter transforms the motif into a pictorial world characterised by blurriness and atmospheric density. Heliogravure becomes a means of alienation: The precise technique allows a painterly-looking dissolution of the contours, creating a quiet, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
