Lot 353 Bauer/Mlakar (Mmachine). 70Q/Dots/PA1. 2024. …

70Q/Dots/PA1. 2024. Acrylfarbe und Aluminiumpigmente auf festem Velin. 51 x 51 cm (70 x 69 cm). Signiert, datiert und nummeriert. - Insgesamt sehr gut.

Contemporary Art – Acrylic paint and aluminium pigments on firm wove paper. Signed, dated and numbered. Overall very good. - One of 10 unique copies. - In this composition by Martin Bauer and Maj Mlakar (artist duo Mmachine), executed in purple acrylic paint with aluminium pigments, the typical combination of analogue painting and digitally inspired structural aesthetics clearly emerges. A finely balanced network of lines and dots unfolds through precise repetition and subtle variation. Despite the strictly geometric, almost technical appearance, the signature of the analogue remains palpable in the independent rhythm and material presence of the paint application. The work belongs to the unique edition "70Q/Dots/PA1", whose title summarises the format, motif structure and colour value as a serial code. It is based on digital sketches that are translated into brushstrokes using a specially modified plotter. It is precisely the deviations from perfect, technical representations that lend the works their sensual dimension.
