Lot 341 Max Frintrop. o.T. 2017. Mischtechnik mit …
o.T. 2017. Mischtechnik mit Acryl auf Leinwand. 30 x 24 cm. Verso signiert und datiert. - In sehr guter Erhaltung.
Contemporary Art – Mixed media with acrylic on canvas. Signed and dated on verso. - Very well preserved. - In the field of tension between formal freedom and conceptual rigour, Max Frintrop draws on the painterly questions of his teacher Albert Oehlen without adopting his ironically distanced approach. His painterly practice is located in the context of the gestural-abstract tradition, while at the same time taking up aspects of colour field painting and spatialism. His works reflect the painting process as a performative act and, by superimposing areas and traces of colour, open up a pictorial event that oscillates between surface, space and movement. - Max Frintrop studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 2003 to 2009 as a master student of Albert Oehlen and has since developed an independent artistic position within contemporary abstract painting. The artist's works are part of numerous national and international exhibitions and are part of public collections, such as the Kunstmuseum Bonn.
