o.T. (abstrakte Komposition). 1965. Aquatintaradierung auf Arches Velin (mit. W.z.). 35,6 x 27,7 cm (56,8 x 44,9 cm). Signiert und nummeriert. Unter Passepartout montiert. -Im Rand recto sowie verso leicht gebräunt. Recto vereinzelt braune Pünktchen sowie verso berieben und mit Bleistift bezeichnet. Insgesamt gut. Ein prachtvoller, gratiger Druck, mit dem vollen Rand und mit Schöpfrand an zwei Seiten.

Informel – Rosset Culleron 46. - Eines von 30 Exemplaren. - Der Stil von André Marfaing entledigt sich unwesentlichem Dekor ebenso wie unrelevanten Fragen, seine Auseinandersetzung mit der Farbe Schwarz und ihren subtilen Halbtönen und den dahinterstehenden Bedeutungen, dem Kontrast zum Licht, der Leere und Fülle offenbart auch philosophische Fragen der Existenz, dem Nichts und dem Sein. Aus den Gegensätzen erschafft Marfaing Arbeiten mit spannungsgeladenem Rhythmus und unmittelbarer Präzision und Prägnanz.

Informel – Untitled (abstract composition). Aquatint etching on Arches wove paper (with. W.z.). Signed and numbered. Mounted under passepartout. -Slightly browned in recto margin and verso. Recto with scattered brown dots and verso rubbed and inscribed in pencil. Good overall. A splendid, burnished impression, with full margins and with scoop margins on two sides.
