Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Unsere Arbeit stammt aus dem Frühwerk des Berliner Künstlers Matthias Koeppel, während er an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin von 1971 bis 1981 lehrte. Die Szenerie zeigt eine Landschaft, denkbar sind ein Park- oder Waldlauf. Im Bildaufbau dominiert der tiefe Horizont, der zwei Drittel der Bildfläche einnimmt und personaltypisches Merkmal des Künstlers ist. Getragen ist die Szene im kleinen Format durch ihre Stimmung, den wenigen Wolken, die zart rosa angeleuchtet werden, ohne dass der Künstler die Sonne zeigt. Er nutzt stattdessen Momente, die aus dem Licht heraus entstehen. Die leichten Nebelschwaden, die sich über das Gras hinwegbewegen, tragen zu der von der Natur geprägten Stimmung wesentlich bei.

Atmospheric and nuanced landscape motif. - Our work is from the Berlin artist's early oeuvre while he was teaching at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin from 1971 to 1981. The scene shows a landscape, conceivably a park or forest. The composition is dominated by the low horizon, which takes up two third of the picture and is a characteristic feature of the artist's style. Within its small format the scene is characterised by its mood, the few clouds, which are delicately depicted in pink, are shown without sunlight. Instead the artist utilises moments that arise from the light itself. The light wafts of mist moving across the grass contribute significantly to the mood characterised by nature.
