Ihre Arbeiten entstehen häufig aus der Kombination unkonventioneller Bildträger und hybrider Techniken, die sie als kritische Erweiterung des künstlerischen Denkraums versteht. In der 1990 entstandenen Arbeit auf Packpapier zeigt sich dieses Prinzip in konzentrierter Form: Die fragile, gebrauchsnahe Materialität des Packpapiers wird bewusst einbezogen, um der Arbeit eine offene, vorläufige Struktur zu verleihen. Stürmer-Alex nutzt Mischtechnik - Zeichnung, Farbauftrag, Spuren, Überlagerungen - als visuelles Vokabular, das zwischen individueller Handschrift und kulturellem Gedächtnis oszilliert.

Her works often arise from a combination of unconventional image carriers and hybrid techniques, which she understands as a critical extension of the artistic space for thought. This principle is evident in concentrated form in the work on packing paper created in 1990: the fragile, utilitarian materiality of the packing paper is deliberately incorporated to give the work an open, provisional structure. Stürmer-Alex uses mixed media - drawing, paint application, traces, overlays - as a visual vocabulary that oscillates between individual handwriting and cultural memory.
