Die Straße Unter Krahnenbäumen liegt im Kölner Kunibertsviertel, nahe der Altstadt. In den 1950er Jahren war sie geprägt von einfachen, oft ärmlichen Lebensverhältnissen. Chargesheimer lebte ein Jahr lang unter den Bewohnern und dokumentierte ihren Alltag mit großer Nähe und Empathie - Kinder beim Spielen, Verliebte bei nächtlichen Spaziergängen, Feste, Trauer, Einsamkeit.
