Lot 946 George Orwell. Nineteen Eighty-Four. London, …

Nineteen Eighty-Four. London, Secker & Warburg, 1949. 8°. 312 S. Handgebundener Ganzlederband mit dopelter Filetenverg., Rücken-, Steh-und Innenkantenvergoldung sowie dreis. Goldschnitt (sign. Bayntun-Riviere Bath).

- Sehr gutes Exemplar in dekorativem Handeinband.

Modern Literature and Art – First edition. - Orwell's last and most famous book. Published in 1949, Nineteen Eighty-Four was in many ways the culmination of Orwell's life's work. Fine copy in hand-bound full leather binding with gilt fillets, gilt spine, spine and inner edges and three gilt edges. (signed Bayntun-Riviere Bath).
