Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Die ersten 10 Ausgaben des ersten tschechischen Jazz Magazins "Jazz" aus den Jahren 1947 und 1948. - Die von Emanuel Uggé (1900-1970), einer der Schlüsselfiguren des tschechoslowakischen Jazz, herausgegebene Zeitschrift erschien im "Nylonzeitalter" zwischen den beiden totalitären Regimen, als der tschechoslowakische Jazz aufblühte und seine wichtigste Szene Prag war. Sie wurde in 15 Ausgaben zwischen 1947 und 1948 veröffentlicht. Die Zeitschrift enthält Porträts und Artikel über Ella Fitzgerald, Don Redman, Tricky Sam Nanton, Duke Ellington, King Cole Trio sowie mehrere Buch- und Filmkritiken und eingefügte Notizen über lokale tschechische Jazzveranstaltungen. Kurz nach dem kommunistischen Putsch im Februar 1948 konnte Jazz nicht mehr veröffentlicht werden. - Leicht gebräunt und gefleckt. In gutem Zustand.

(Edges slightly browned with small tears.) - The first ten issues of the first Czech magazine devoted to jazz from 1947 and 1948. - The Edited by Emanuel Uggé (1900-1970), one of the key figures of the Czechoslovakian jazz, the magazine was published in the "nylon age" between the two totalitarian regimes, when Czechoslovakian jazz was flourishing, its most important scene being Prague. It was published in 15 issues, between 1947-1948. The journal includes portraits and articles about Ella Fitzgerald, Don Redman, Tricky Sam Nanton, Duke Ellington, King Cole Trio as well as several book and film reviews and inserted notes about local Czech jazz happenings. Shortly after the Communist coup in February 1948, Jazz could no longer be published. - Slightly browned and stained. In fine condition.
