Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Die Zeichnung mit dem Monogramm "CM" des belgischen Bildhauers und Malers Costantin Meunier zeigt zwei Arbeiter, einen einen Stein auf der Schulter tragend. Es ähnelt einer Kohlezeichnung im Bestand des Brüsseler Constantin Meunier Musuem (Inv. 10000/358), welche händisch oberhalb des Monogramms mit "port d'anvers/débardeur" betitelt wurde. Darüber hinaus könnten die Kohlezeichnung wohlmöglich mit Meuniers Skulptur "Le Portfaix" in Verbindung stehen. Meuniers Arbeiten zeigten oft idealisierte Darstellungen von Arbeitern. - Mit Lichtrand von alter Rahmung. Vereinzelt minimal stockfleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltene Zeichnung.

Monogrammed. - This drawing, monogrammed "CM" by the Belgian sculptor and painter Costantin Meunier, depicts two workers, one carrying a stone on his shoulder. It resembles a charcoal drawing in the collection of the Constantin Meunier Museum in Brussels (Inv. 10000/358), which was hand-titled "port d'anvers/débardeur" above the monogram. Furthermore, the charcoal drawing could maybe be connected to Meunier's sculpture "Le Portfaix." Meunier's works often featured idealized depictions of workers. - With light staining from the old frame. Occasional minor foxing. Overall, a very well-preserved drawing.
