Fantoches. Original Illustrations-Entwurf. Um 1900. Feder und Kohle auf Vergé, teils weiß gehöht. Blattmaße 48 x 33,5 cm. Signiert.

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Über den Verfasser ist bisher nicht viel bekannt. Er war um die Jahrhundertwende für namenhafte französische Satire-Zeitungen wie "La Caricature" und "Le Charivari" als Illustrator tätig. - Unter der Darstellung mit dem Schriftzug: "Allons (...), mon ami, la bonne t'attend, je ne veux pas que tu mettes les pieds ici avant que tu n'aies demandé au ministre les palmes académiques pour mon mari, ... tu lui dois bien ça." - Verso und im unteren Rand mit Beschriftung in blauem Farbstift. Etwas fleckig und knitterig sowie mit kl. Löchlein. Ränder etwas unregelmäßig. Verso mit Spuren früherer Montierung.

Around the turn of the century he worked as an illustrator for well-known satirical newspapers such as "La Caricature" and "Le Charivari". - Under the illustration with the caption in French: see above. - Inscription in blue coloured pencil on verso and in lower margin. Somewhat stained and creased and with small holes. Margins somewhat irregular. Verso with traces of former mounting.
