Hubert Berke. Skizzenbuch. Mit Sechs Federzeichnungen in schwarz sowie drei Federzeichnungen in schwarz weiß laviert auf festerem Velin. Ca. 1935/40. 18 Bll., 4° - Alle signiert und teilweise datiert. Mit einer Widmung des Künstlers verso im SKizzenbuchdeckel. Mit einem Holzschnitt. 13,6 x 9,8 cm (16,4 x 12,5 cm). Signiert und datiert. - Auf dem Deckel des Skizzenbuches befinden sich zwei Fleckchen. Der Rand ist leicht aufgehellt. Verso auf dem Deckel befindet sich eine Widmung des Künstlers. Ebenfalls verso kleine gelbe Pünktchen sowie leicht berieben und mit Bleistift bezeichnet. Die Seiten des Skizzenbuches sind leicht gebräunt und weisen verso teilweise ebenfalls kleine gelbe Pünktchen auf. Teilweise leicht berieben. Insgesamt gut. Sehr schöne, gratige Federzeichnungen.

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Wir danken Michael Berke für die freundliche Bestätigung. Hubert Berke war ein deutscher Maler und Grafiker. Neben seiner Arbeit als Werbe- und Buchillustrator,schuf er ein eigenes künstlerisches Werk. Das uns vorliegende Skizzenbuch kann in seine frühe Schaffensperiode eingeordnet werden.

With a dedication by the artist on the verso of the sketchbook cover. With one woodcut. Signed and dated. -There are two small stains on the cover of the sketchbook. The margin is slightly lightened. There is a dedication by the artist on the verso of the cover. Also on the verso small yellow dots as well as slightly rubbed and inscribed in pencil. The pages of the sketchbook are slightly browned and also have some small yellow spots on the verso. Partially slightly rubbed. Good overall. Very fine, burnished pen and ink drawings. - We would like to thank Michael Berke for his kind acknowledgement. Hubert Berke was a German painter and graphic artist. In addition to his work as an advertising and book illustrator, he created his own artistic work. The sketchbook we have here can be categorised in his early creative period.
