Modern Literature and Art – Signed first edition. - On the front flyleaf with Kästner's autograph signature, front title page with autograph dedication by publisher Kurt Maschner (1898-1986) to his "old friend" Bertha Lehmann-Fröhlich. - Orig. brown cloth with gilt stamped spine and cover title and illustrated orig. dust jacket (this with minor marginal defects, minor loss on upper spine and 1 backed tear) with cover illustration by Walter Trier. - Hatry 262: "First post-war publication by Erich Kästner. In the foreword, dated 'Munich, between war and peace, 1946,' the author comments officially on the book burning for the first time. He added comments to his best political, social, and socially critical poems." (trans.). - Overall in good condition.
