Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Erste Buchausgabe. - Eins von 750 num. Exemplaren (GA 800 Ex.), Gelb und Schwarz gedruckt. - Jacoby 17. - Houghton Library 761. - Sarkowski 776. - Ursprünglich war geplant, dass Karl Walser die Illustrationen ausführen sollte. Auf Betreiben Harry Graf Kesslers fiel die Wahl auf Edward Gordon Craig, den er 1904 auf dessen Deutschlandreise kennengelernt hatte (vgl. Schuster, Briefwechsel Hofmannsthal/Insel, 1984, 36-38 u. 151ff.). - Gutes Exemplar.
Modern Literature and Art – First book edition with 4 orig. woodcuts. Half cloth with gilt top edge, gilt stamped title to spine and coloured paper cover (inconspicuously soiled). - The original plan was for Karl Walser to do the illustrations. At Harry Graf Kessler's instigation, the choice fell on Edward Gordon Craig, whom he had met on his trip to Germany in 1904 (cf. Schuster, Briefwechsel Hofmannsthal/Insel, 1984, 36-38 and 151ff.). - Good copy.
