Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Karl Seubert war ein vielseitiger Künstler, der in den Jahren vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg neben seinen bekannten Holz- und Linolschnitten auch Auftragsarbeiten für verschiedene Firmen realisierte. Unsere Blätter zeigen u.a. fünf ornamentale, fein in Gouache gearbeitete Entwürfe für eine Stuttgarter Zigarettenfabrik in frischen Farben. Beigegeben: drei weitere Blätter des Künstlers. - Bll. teils leicht gebräunt sowie vereinzelt knickspurig. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Each watercolour and gouache on wove paper. - Karl Seubert was a versatile artist who, in addition to his well-known woodcuts and linocuts, also realised commissioned works for various companies in the years before the Second World War. Our sheets show, among other things, five ornamental designs in fresh colours, finely worked in gouache, for a Stuttgart cigarette factory. Enclosed: three further sheets by the artist. - Some sheets slightly browned and with occasional creases. Overall very good.
