Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Verso mit dem roten Nachlassstempel und der hs. Nummer 824. - Wohl eine unveröffentlichte Karikatur für die Zeitschrift Simplicissimus anlässlich der Olympischen Spiele 1936. Mit dem eigenhändigen Text des Künstlers: "Stille Feier. Nun ruft man wieder die Jugend der Welt - aber ich war auch mal der Welt zweitbester Läufer." - Karl Arnold (1883-1953) studierte ab 1901 an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München bei Karl Raupp, Ludwig von Löfftz und Franz von Stuck. Aus finanzieller Not wandte er sich an die Redaktionen der führenden Münchner Illustrierten und veröffentlichte ab 1907 Zeichnungen im Simplicissimus und in der Zeitschrift Die Jugend. Bis 1942 veröffentlichte Arnold über 1800 Zeichnungen im Simplicissimus. - In den Blatträndern überwiegend unter dem Passepartout mit Löchlein von früherer Montierung. Schön erhaltene und lebendige Komposition.

Probably an unpublished caricature for the magazine Simplicissimus on the occasion of the 1936 Olympic Games. With the artist's own handwritten text. - Small holes from previous mounting in the margins, mainly under the passepartout. Nicely preserved and lively composition.
