Orig. Handkol. Radierung mit Punktierstich mit Darstellung der Schlacht von Waterloo, im Mittelpunkt Prinz Wilhelm von Oranien zu Pferde. Zyne Koninklyke Hoogheid Willem Prins van Oranje in den roemrijken veldslag van Waterloo, op den 18den Junij 1815, gewond op het oogenblik der overwinning. Amsterdam, E. Maaskamp, (1817). Sichtmaße 59,4 x 72 cm. Unter Glas in goldfarbenem Stuckrahmen gerahmt (ungeöffnet).

Geschichtswissenschaften – Atlas van Stolk 6381 - Rijksmuseum RP-P-OB-88.875 - Gestochen von Willem van Senus nach einem Gemälde von Joseph-Denis Odevaere. - Unterhalb des Motivs mit Legende in Niederländisch und Französisch. - Während der Schlacht von Waterloo am 18. Juni 1815 wird der Prinz von Oranien verwundet. In der Bildmitte sitzt er zu Pferd und hält sich an der Schulter, während sein Stab ihm eilends zu Hilfe kommt. Auf der linken Seite nähert sich ein Dragoner mit einer erbeuteten französischen Standarte, auf der die Namen Austerlitz, Jena und Wagram zu lesen sind. Im Vordergrund rechts liegt ein verletzter schottischer Soldat. - Papierbedingt etw. braunfleckig (tls. etw. ungleichmäßig), partiell etw. stockfleckig. Augenscheinlich insgesamt gut erhalten.

History – Original hand-coloured etching with stippling depicting the Battle of Waterloo, with Prince William of Orange in the centre. Visible dimensions 59.4 x 72 cm. Framed under glass in a gold-coloured stucco frame (unopened). - Engraved by Willem van Senus after a painting by Joseph-Denis Odevaere. - Below the motif with a legend in Dutch and French. - Somewhat brownstained due to age and paper (partly somehwar uneven), partly slight foxing. Apparently in good condition overall.
