Geschichtswissenschaften – Zweite Augabe der seltenen der Geschichte derer von Rocabertí, für uns auf Auktionen nur ein Mal nachweisbar (2011). - Palau 334569 - Der Vicomte von Rocabertí ist ein Adelstitel, der im Jahr 842 von Kaiser Karl dem Großen an Hugo de Rocabertí, den Herrn der Burg Rocabertí (in der Provinz Gorona, im Nordosten Spaniens), verliehen wurde. Der Titel wurde 1463 von König Johann II. von Aragonien an Pedro de Rocabertí bestätigt. - Die Erstausgabe des Werks war 1641 in Barcelona erschienen. - Provenienz: Grafen Harrach, österr. Uradel, mit dem Löschstempel "Ex Bibliotheca Viennensi" auf dem Titelblatt u. hs. Bibliothekssigle auf flieg. Vorsatz recto. Ferdinand Bonaventura I. von Harrach (1637-1706) und sein Sohn Alois Graf Harrach (1669-1762) waren österr. Gesandte in Madrid. Zweiterer bekleidete zwischen 1728 und 1733 zudem das Amt des Vizekönigs im damals spanischen Königreich Neapel. In dieser Zeit bauten die Harrachs einen beträchtlichen Bestand an spanischen und italienischen Drucken des 16. u. 17 Jh. auf, der danach die Bibliothek des Wiener Harrachpalais bereichern sollte. (Vgl. Wurzbach VII (1861), S. 371-73.) - Fehlerhafte Foliierung: Bl. 13a u. 14a fehlen, Sprung von Bl. 34 auf Bl. 47, weiter bis Bl. 82. Laut Kustos und Signatur jedoch komplett. - Buchblock von der Bindung gelöst, Ränder und Schnitt stellenweise gering stockfleckig, sonst gut erhaltenes breitrandiges Exemplar.

History – Spain. - Second edition of the rare history of the Rocabertí family, only once traceable for us at auction (2011). - Palau 334569 - Viscount of Rocabertí is a noble title granted in 842 by Emperor Charlemagne to Hugo de Rocabertí of the castle of Rocabertí (in the province of Gorona, in north-east Spain). The title was confirmed to Pedro de Rocabertí by King John II of Aragon in 1463. - Provenance: Counts Harrach, Austrian aristocracy, with the cancellation stamp 'Ex Bibliotheca Viennensi' on the title page and the hand-written library number on fly-leaf recto. Ferdinand Bonaventura I of Harrach (1637-1706) and his son Alois Count Harrach (1669-1762) were Austrian envoys in Madrid. The latter also held the office of viceroy in the then Spanish Kingdom of Naples between 1728 and 1733. During this time, the Harrachs built up a considerable collection of Spanish and Italian prints from the 16th and 17th centuries, which would later enrich the library of the Harrach Palace in Vienna. (Cf. Wurzbach VII (1861), pp. 371-73.)- The first edition of the work was published in Barcelona in 1641. - Wrong foliation: leaves 13a and 14a missing, jump from leaf 34 to leaf 47, continuing to leaf 82, complete however according to the custos and signature. - Book-block detached from binding, margins and cut slightly foxed in places, otherwise a well-preserved copy with wide margins.
