In: Mitteilungen der VÖB 70 (2017), Nr. 1, S. 32f. - Als Werk, auch in Einzelbänden, in institutionellen Beständen und im Handel von exzeptioneller Seltenheit, vorliegender Band weltweit in nur zwei Exemplaren nachweisbar (Bibl. d. HGM, Wien u. Royal Danish Defence College, Kopenhagen.) Auf Auktionen niemals angeboten. - Neben einem lithographisch illustrierten Titelblatt, das auch eine Farblegende für 12 zu markierende Metall-, Holz- und Lederarten enthält, besteht der Band aus 85 lithographischen Tafeln mit rund 1.300 hand- bzw. schablonenkolorierten Abbildungen von genauen Konstruktionszeichnungen, mit Maßstabsangabe von Waffenteilen und Zubehör für die Artillerie. - Die "Kriegsfeuerwerkerei" erschien in insgesamt VI Teilen und zusätzlich 2 nicht nummerierten Tafelbänden (I-III, 1868, Taf. zu I-III, 1868, IV, 1873, Taf. zu IV, 1873, V, 1869, VI, 1870). - Provenienz: Durchgestrichene Abbildungen und handschriftliche Anmerkungen, sowie eine mehrfache, mehrere, in der Datierung Jahrzehnte auseinanderliegende Besitzerstempel (Vorderdeckel und Titelblatt mit den Stempeln und einem handschriftlichen Inventarisierungseintrag des "K.K. Techn. & adm. MILITÄR-COMITÉ 1. Section" (Bezeichnung ab 1869) bzw. der "BIBLIOTHEK DES TECHN. MILITÄR-COMITÉ" (Umbenennung nach 1895) lassen darauf schließen, dass es sich bei vorliegendem um das ehemalige Handexemplar der hg. Körperschaft handelt. - Titelbl. mit Randeinriss, Bll. 27/26 und 29/28 fehlerhaft paginiert, Titelblatt und oft auch die Ränder der Tafeln fingerfleckig, papierbedingt gebräunt. Insgesamt solide erhaltenes, aufgrund seiner Seltenheit und waffenhistorischen Bedeutung äußerst sammelnswerten, wohl unikalen Exemplars, die klar gedruckten Lithographien mit kräftigem, abwechslungsreichem Kolorit.

History – Unique copy of an internal, classified publication by the K.k. Artillerie-Komitee, a weapons development department of the Habsburg War Ministry. - Volume with 85 lithographed plates, coloured in 12 colours by hand or with stencil. - In addition to a profusely illustrated title page, which also contains a colour legend for 12 types of metal, wood and leather to be marked, the volume consists of 85 plates with around 1,300 hand-coloured or stencil-coloured illustrations of precise construction drawings, with scale indications of parts for artillery weapons and accessories. - The 'Kriegsfeuerwerkerei' was published in a total of VI parts and an additional 2 unnumbered plate volumes (I-III, 1868, plates for I-III, 1868, IV, 1873, plates for IV, 1873, V, 1869, VI, 1870). - Provenance: Crossed-out illustrations and handwritten annotations, as well as multiple owner's stamps dating decades apart (front cover and title page with the stamps and a handwritten inventory entry of the "K.K. Techn. & adm. MILITÄR-COMITÉ 1. Section" (from 1869) or the "LIBRARY OF THE TECHN. MILITÄR-COMITÉ" (renamed after 1895) suggest that this is the former personal copy of the published corporation. - Pages 27/26 and 29/28 incorrectly paginated, title page and margins of plates finger-stained, browned due to the paper. Overall, a solidly preserved, presumably unique copy, extremely collectible due to its rarity and significance in the history of artillery. The clearly printed lithographs with strong, varied Coloring. - Of exceptional rarity, also in individual volumes, in institutional collections and in the trade, only two copies of this volume are known to exist worldwide (Bibl. d. HGM, Vienna and Royal Danish Defence College, Copenhagen). Never offered at auction.
