Durch Produktions Verzögerungen lag zu seinem Geburtstags-Jubiläum nur die erste Lieferung vor und das Werk konnte erst 1862 vollständig veröffentlicht werden. Die Photographien zeigen Motive nach Zeichnungen von Böcklen, Kirchner, Piloty, Ramberg, Schwind u.a., die Holzschnitte wurden nach Zeichnungen von Julius Schnorr angefertigt. - Ränder gebräunt, stockfleckig. Insgesamt gut erhaltene, prachtvolle Ausgabe.

Leather with gold-stamped fillets, gold-stamped spine title, and rich spine gilding and gold-stamped inner edges, as well as gilt edges (rubbed and stained, joints broken). - Rare. - With handwritten ownership notes and dedications from the Heath family. - Anniversary edition for Schiller's 100th birthday. Due to production delays, only the first delivery was available for his birthday anniversary, and the work could not be published in its entirety until 1862. The photographs show motifs based on drawings by Böcklen, Kirchner, Piloty, Ramberg, Schwind, and others, the woodcuts were made after drawings by Julius Schnorr. - Edges browned, foxing. Overall, a well-preserved, splendid edition.
