Mit zwei gestochenen Titelblättern, einer Titelvignette, einem gestochenen Portrait des Autors, sowie 5 doppelseitigen und 40 ganzseitigen Kupfertafeln. Paris, Antoine Dezallier, 1692. 4 Bll., 224 S., 4 Bll. Folio. Pgt. mit hs. RTitel (leicht bestoßen und berieben, minimal fleckig).

Besitzvermerk auf dem Titelblatt. - Reich illustriertes Werk zu der Sammlung der Kunstkammer und Bibliothek St. Genevieve. Der französische Historiker Claude de Molinet (1620-1687) beschreibt die umfangreiche Sammlung von Artificialia, Naturalia, Exotica, Scientifica, Amuletten, Münzen, Medaillen, Bildern etc. Der vorliegende Band beschäftigt sich mit antiken Gegenständen im Zusammenhang mit den Religionen der Ägypter, Römer und Christen, sowie den Naturwissenschaften. De Molinet war von 1657 bis 1687 der Bibliothekar des Klosters St. Genevieve. - Die Kupferstiche stammen von dem französischen Radierer und Zeichner Franz Ertinger (1640-1710). - Stockfleckig, Ränder leicht gebräunt. Kupferstiche weitgehend unbeeinträchtigt. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltenes Exemplar mit prachtvollen Kupferstichen.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – 2 parts in 1 vol. With two engraved title pages, a title vignette, an engraved portrait of the author, as well as 5 double-page and 40 full-page copperplate engravings. Vellum with handwritten spine title (slightly bumped and rubbed, minimally stained). - With handwritten ownership note on the title page. - Richly illustrated work on the collection of the Kunstkammer and library of St. Genevieve. French historian Claude de Molinet (1620-1687) describes the extensive collection of artificialia, naturalia, exotica, scientifica, amulets, coins, medals, pictures, etc. This volume deals with ancient objects related to the religions of the Egyptians, Romans, and Christians, as well as the natural sciences. De Molinet was the librarian of the St. Genevieve monastery from 1657 to 1687. The copperplate engravings are by the French engraver Franz Ertinger (1640-1710). - Foxing, edges slightly browned. Copperplate engravings largely unaffected. Overall, a very well-preserved copy with magnificent copperplate engravings.
