Die Abenteuer der Kreuzritter. Faksimileausgabe der Handschrift Fr. 5994 aus der Bibliothèque nationale de France. 2 Bde. (Faks. u. Komm.) Mit 145 Miniaturen. Madrid, Club Bibliófilo Versol, 2012. 287 Bll. 4°. Rotes Ldr. mit goldgepr. Fileten auf dem hinteren Deckel und einem DEmblem in Kreuzritterfarben mit goldenen Löwen und Fleur-de-Lis auf dem vorderen, sowei OLwd. (Komm.) zusammen in Kassette (Gelenke der Kassette gebrochen).

Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Eins von 478 nummerierten Exemplaren. - Die prachtvolle Originalhandschrift wurde von Louis de Laval (1411-1489) in Auftrag gegeben und von dem Buchmaler Jean Colombe (1430-1493). Diese eindrucksvolle Geschichte der Kreuzzüge deckt mit ihrem strengen historischen Inhalt einen großen Teil des Mittelalters ab, beginnend mit der Legende von Karl dem Großen in Jerusalem (8. Jahrhundert), der die ersten Seiten gewidmet sind, und endend mit dem Fall von Konstantinopel (15. Jahrhundert). Die Kreuzzüge prägten im Mittelalter sowohl die christliche als auch die islamische Welt nachhaltig. Dieses Faksimile zeugt eindrucksvoll von den tiefgreifenden Wechselwirkungen und den historischen Entwicklungen dieser Epoche. - Neuwertig.

Books on Books - Facsimile Editions – The Adventures of the Crusaders. Facsimile edition of the manuscript Fr. 5994 from the Bibliothèque nationale de France. 2 vols. (facsimiles and commentary) With 145 miniatures. Red leather with gilt fillets on the back cover and a crusader emblem with golden lions and fleur-de-lis on the front cover, as well as original canvas (commentary) together in a case (case hinges broken). - One of 478 numbered copies. - The magnificent original manuscript was commissioned by Louis de Laval (1411-1489) and executed by the illuminator Jean Colombe (1430-1493). This impressive history of the Crusades, with its rigorous historical content, covers a large part of the Middle Ages, beginning with the legend of Charlemagne in Jerusalem (8th century), to which the opening pages are devoted, and ending with the fall of Constantinople (15th century). The Crusades had a lasting impact on both the Christian and Islamic worlds during the Middle Ages. This facsimile impressively testifies to the profound interactions and historical developments of this era. - Mint condition.
