Theaterliche Szene. Aquarell über Bleistift auf Bütten. 22 x 16 cm. Im unteren linken Eck von fremder Hand mit Künstlernamen bezeichnet "G. Doré". Verso mit Stempel der Sammlung Justinus Kerner (Lugt L. 1567b) sowie Annotationen von fremder Hand in Bleistift.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Dramatische Szene, eingefangen in detailreichen und schattendurchzogenen Linien, welche durchaus an den Stil Gustave Dorés denken lassen (Bezeichnung unten links). Hier zu sehen eine Mutter am Bett ihres Kindes, welche mit gesenktem Kopf dessen Hand hält und in ergreifender Weise diesen Moment des Schmerzes und der Hoffnungslosigkeit ausdrückt. - Vereinzelt gering braunfleckig. Verso am oberen Rand mit Rückständen alter Montierung. Insgesamt gut.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Theatrical scene. Watercolour over pencil on laid paper. With artist's name "G. Doré" by another hand in the lower left corner. On verso with stamp of the "Sammlung Justinus Kerner" and annotations in pencil by an another hand. - Dramatic scene, captured in detailed and shadowy lines, reminiscent of the style of Gustave Doré (inscription bottom left). Here we see a mother at the bedside of her child, holding his hand with her head bowed, expressing this moment of pain and hopelessness in a poignant way. - Occasional minor brownstaining. Verso in upper margin with traces of old mounting. Good overall.
