Landschaft mit Rindern. 19. Jh. Öl auf Zedernholz (Deckel einer Zigarrenschachtel). 12,5 x 20 cm. In goldfarbenem Rahmen gerahmt.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Zunächst idyllisch anmutende Szene mit einigen Schafen und Rindern, platziert im Zentrum auf einer Brücke, welche einen Wildbach überspannt. Einen Spannungsmoment der Komposition bildet der sich nähernde, dramatische Gewitterhimmel, welcher sich über der beschaulichen Szene bedrohlich aufbaut. - Verso mit altem Etikett, hier mit anzuzweifelnder Zuschreibung Oswald Achenbachs sowie Nennung der Provenienz des Grafen von Montmartin (Schloss Thürnhofen). - Altersbedingt mit zartem Craquelé, punktuell mit kl. Farbabplatzungen, etw. angedunkelt. Insgesamt gut.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Oil on cedar wood (lid of a cigar box). Framed in a gold-coloured frame. Initially an idyllic scene with a few sheep and cattle placed in the centre on a bridge spanning a torrent. A moment of tension in the composition is created by the approaching, dramatic stormy sky, which builds up menacingly above the tranquil scene. - With an old label on the verso, here with a questionable attribution to Oswald Achenbach and the provenance of Count von Montmartin (Thürnhofen Castle). - With delicate craquelure due to age, with small colour flaking in few spots, somewhat darkened. Good overall.
