6 Kupferstiche mit biblischen Motiven aus der Serie: Emblemata Sacra Passionis Salvatoris nostri Jesu Christi. Spätere Drucke aus dem 18. Jhd. nach den Stichen von 1620. Je Kupferstich auf Velin. Maße von 16,5 x 10,5 cm bis 17,5 x 11,5 cm. Je mit der gestochenen Schrift unterhalb der Darstellung. Je punktuell auf Unterlage montiert und unter Passepartout präsentiert. - 1 Arbeit entlang der Ränder etwas unregelmäßiger beschnitten, die Darstellung nicht betroffen. Dort das Papier etwas gewellt als Folge der Klebemontierung. 1 Arbeit mit vereinzelten, schwachen Braunflecken. Insgesamt sehr gut. Prachtvolle, kontrastreiche und scharf gestochene Drucke der nahezu formatfüllenden Darstellungen.

Alte Künstlergraphik – Hollstein, S. 6, 185, 4, Le Blanc 1854 - 1890, S. 2, 78, 1. - Enthält: - Der Kopf des Judas (Blatt 3) - Dornenkrone und Rohrstock (Blatt 5) - Das Schweißtuch der Veronika (Blatt 6) - Kreuz mit Inschrift (Blatt 8) - Werkzeug und Pfeile (Blatt 9) - Würfelnder Engel (Blatt 11). - Die Drucke entstanden von Raphael Custos, welcher der Halbbruder von Lucas Kilian (1579-1637) war und der die Motive entwarf. Zusammen mit Wolfgang Kilian (1581 - 1683) arbeiteten die drei (Halb)brüder kooperierend in ihren Werkstätten zusammen. Sie alle lernten bei dem Vater Domenicus Custos (1560 - 1612). Die Stiche von Raphael Custos zeigen unverkennbar den Stil von Lucas Kilian, der zu den Meistern des sog. Ornamentstiches gehörte und besonders für seine Anwendung von Mauresken und Knorpelornamentformen berühmt wurde. - Aus der 12-teiligen Serie "Emblemata Sacra Passionis Salvatoris nostri Jesu Christi".

Each with the engraved text below the depiction. Each spot-mounted to underlying mat and presented in mat. - 1 work slightly irregularly cut along the margins, the depiction not affected.
