Contemp. marbled half cloth with blank label to cover (rubbed, bumped, spine cover partly chipped). - Splendid work of views of Mainz in chalk lithography with notes on the history of the buildings. The 35 large-format plates are based on older originals and mostly show buildings that were destroyed or demolished during the French Revolution or the subsequent Napoleonic rule. Includes views as listed above. - Some foxing, overall good copy.
