Orts- und Landeskunde mit verschiedenen Schlagworten – Graesse I, 572. - Loewe 501. - Warnecke 1430 (Provenienz). - Stark erweiterte Neuauflage der zuerst 1584 erschienenen berühmten Städtechronik und Landesgeschichte. - Das Hauptwerk des aus Hannover stammenden evangelischen Historikers Heinrich Bünting (1545-1606) wurde von Philipp Julius Rehtmeyer (1678-1742) bis zum Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts fortgesetzt, und zu einer allgemeinen Geschichte des Welfenhauses erweitert. - Die Tafeln u. a. mit zahlreichen Medaillen und Münzen, die Textholzschnitte mit Wappen und Siegeln. - Provenienz: Wilhelm von Neindorff, mit dessen chromolithographischen Ex Libris auf den Vorderspiegelen beider Bände. - Es fehlen 22 Textkupfer und von Tl. 3 die Seiten 1377-1878 (recte 1880). - Zwischentitel zu Bd. 2 mit (teils gelöschten Besitzervermerken), teils leicht stock,- wasser- und schmutzfleckig, sonst sauberer Exemplarsatz mit klaren Kupfern und kräftigen Holzschnitten.

Bound in contemporary half-leather with gilt spine. - Greatly expanded new edition of the famous city chronicle and regional history, first published in 1584. - This major work by the Protestant historian Heinrich Bünting (1545-1606), originally from Hanover, was continued by historian Philipp Julius Rehtmeyer (1678-1742) up to the beginning of the 18th century and expanded into a general history of the House of Welf. - The plates include numerous medals and coins, and the text wood-cuts include coats of arms and seals. - Provenance: Wilhelm von Neindorff, with his chromolithographic book-plate on both paste-downs. - Missing 22 text engravings as well as pages 1377-1878 (recte 1880) from part 3. Subtitle to volume 2 has (partially deleted) owner's notes, some pages slightly foxed, water-stained, and soiled, otherwise a clean set with clear engravings and bold woodcuts, collectable despite not being a complete copy.
