Nach seiner Tischlerlehre kehrte er nach Leipzig zurück und begann dort unter Adam Friedrich Oeser an der Akademie in Leipzig zu lernen. - Jede Tafel wird von einem Text begleitet, der die abgebildete Szene oder das Bauwerk erläutert.
