Dekorative Graphik - Karten – Prachtvolle Karte von Belle Isle, die vor der Südküste der Bretagne liegt. Diese Karte, die eine hohe Detailgenauigkeit aufweist, beinhaltet zwei Insetkarten: Der erste zeigt Belle Isle im Norden des Golfs von Biskaya, der zweite die Zitadelle von Le Palais im nördlichen Bereich der Insel.Diese Karte erschien in dem Jahr, als britische Truppen die Insel im Rahmen des Siebenjährigen Krieges besetzten - einem entscheidenden Moment in der Geschichte der Insel. Bis 1763 war die Insel britisch besetzt, dann wurde sie gegen Menorca eingetauscht. Die während der Besatzung entvölkerte Insel wurde von vertriebenen Akadiern neu besiedelt. - Mit zwei Mittelfalzen, am Außenrand mit Einrissen. Am Außenrand minimal gebräunt und mit Bleistiftnummern versehen.

This highly detailed map includes two inset maps: the first shows Belle Isle in the north of the Bay of Biscay, the second shows the citadel of Le Palais in the northern part of the island. This map was published in the year that British troops occupied the island during the Seven Years' War-a decisive moment in the island's history. The island remained under British occupation until 1763, when it was exchanged for Menorca. Depopulated during the occupation, the island was repopulated by displaced Acadians. - With two center folds, tears on the outer edge. - Slightly browned at the outer edges and numbered in pencil.
