Geographie und Reisen – Sehr seltene komplette und vollständig ausgesttete Serie des reich illustrierten Monumentalwerks über die Indigenen des Feuerland-Archipels. - Umfasst Bd. 1: Die Sel'knam (mit Tafelmappe). Bd. 2: Die Yamana. Bd. 3/I: Die Halakwulup. Bd. 3/2: Anthropologie (mit Tafelmappe). - Der bedeutende deutsche Ethnograph, Theologe und Missionar Martin Gusinde (1886-1969), Professor an der Catholic University in Washington D.C., unternahm ausgedehnte Studienreisen u. a. zu den Araukaniern (Chile, Patagonien), den Feuerland-Indianern u. verschiedenen Pygmäen-Stämmen. - Sehr frischer, nahezu unbenützter Exemplarsatz, aufgrund des langen Erscheinungszeitraums vollständig wie hier äußerst selten angeboten.
Geography and Travel – South America. -With 9, where of 7 coloured and folding maps (6 of them double), 1 tipped-on original photography, 6 coloured plates, 22 half-tone plates with 100 photographic illustrations and 228 text illustrations. 2 plate portfolios with 51 plates depicting 129 photographic illustrations (ad vol. 1) as well as 15 plates with 65 original photographies (ad vol. 3 respectively. - Bound in the original publisher's cloth covers, mostly also with the original publisher's dust wrappers and slipcases. - Extremely rare complete series of this richly illustrated monumental work on the indigenous people of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. - Vol. 1: The Sel'knam (incl. portfolio with plates). Vol. 2: The Yamana. Vol. 3/I: The Halakwulup. Vol. 3/2: Anthropology. (incl. portfolio with plates). - The important German ethnographer Martin Gusinde (1886-1969), professor at Catholic University in Washington D.C., undertook extensive research travelling to the Araucanians (Chile, Patagonia), the Tierra del Fuego Indians and various Pygmy tribes, among others. - Ver well preserved set, due to the long period of publication complete sets are rarely offered indeed.
