Geographie und Reisen – Erste Ausgabe. - Henze II, 30 ff: "Die Begebenheiten und Ergebnisse seiner 7 Expeditionen legte in dem Prachtwerk ... nieder,das am Reisefaden ein wahres Panorama von der Natur des Gebirges entrollt, wie es in der selten glücklichen Verbindung von Wort und Bild bis dahin noch nicht ausgeführt worden war ... durch ihn gelangten die ersten Photobilder des kaukas. Hochgebirges nach Europa ... die große Karte war die erste Darstellung des ganzen kaukas. Hochgebirges in größerem Maßstab, die außerhalb Rußlands erschien." - Mit dem seltenen dritten Band, der die botanischen Ergebnisse der Reise enthält. - Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten mit prachtvollen, kontrastvollen Heliogravüren. - Dabei: Déchy, Le Massif du Kinchinjunga. 1881. Geography and Travel – Caucasus - 3 vols. With 2 frontispieces, 36 heliogravure plates, 36 collotype plates, 18 folded panoramas from photographs, and numerous text illustrations from photographs, as well as 1 folded map. Original canvas with gold-stamped spine and cover title (slightly rubbed). - First edition. - Henze II, 30 ff: "He recorded the events and results of his 7 expeditions in this magnificent work... which unfolds a true panorama of the nature of the mountains along the thread of his travels, such as had never been realized before in the rare and successful combination of word and image... Through him, the first photographic images of the Caucasus Mountains reached Europe... the large map was the first larger-scale representation of the entire Caucasus Mountains to appear outside of Russia." - With the rare third volume containing the botanical results of the trip. - Overall, very well preserved with magnificent, high-contrast photogravures. - Included: Déchy, Le Massif du Kinchinjunga. 1881. Softcover. - With handwritten dedication by Déchy.
