Geographie und Reisen – Darstellung des jungen Herrscher Ojin auf den Schultern des Ministers Takenouchi Sukune. Seine historische Existenz gilt als umstritten. Den Legenden nach sei er der 15. Tenno Japans und der erste Herrscher der Kofun Periode gewesen und habe entweder im späten 3. oder 5. Jahrhundert regiert. Ojin war der Sohn der Herrscherin Jingu, welche auf dem Holzschnitt neben Sukune abgebildet ist. Sie übernahem nach dem Tod ihres Mannes die Herrschaft Japans. - Leichte Randläsuren, Falten. Insgesamt ein gut erhaltener Druck. - Dabei: Japanischer Holzdruck. 24,5 x 35 cm. Holzdruck auf Japan. - Zeigt wohl die Generäle Yamagata Saburo und Baba Nobuharu bei der Schlacht von Nagashino. - Starke Randläsuren, Farbe leicht ausgeblichen.
Geography and Travel – Woodblock print on Japan. Mounted on paper and partially mounted under passepartout. - Depiction of the young ruler Ojin on the shoulders of the minister Takenouchi Sukune. His historical existence is disputed. According to legend, he was the 15th tenno of Japan and the first ruler of the Kofun period and reigned either in the late 3rd or 5th century. Ojin was the son of the ruler Jingu, who is depicted on the woodcut next to Sukune. She took over the rule of Japan after the death of her husband. - Slight marginal tears, folds. Overall a well-preserved print. - With: Japanese woodblock print. Woodblock print on Japan. - Probably showing Generals Yamagata Saburo and Baba Nobuharu at the Battle of Nagashino. - Heavy marginal losses, color slightly faded.
