Geographie und Reisen – Der brasilianische Landschaftsmaler Coculilo studierte in Rio de Janeiro bei dem Katalanen Luis Graner. Er ist bekannt für seine Ansichten von Rio und dessen Umgebung, welche er oft von seinem Wohnort in Niterói malte. - Stimmungsvoll und in warmem Licht fängt Coculilo in der dargestellten Szene den Berg Corcovado ein, auf welchem sich seit 1931 die monumentale Christusstatue steht, welche als Wahrzeichen der Stadt gilt. - Firnis partiell leicht angegilbt, im linken Rand mit Spuren der Rahmung sowie kleinem Löchlein, mit leichter Oberflächenanstaubung, unter UV vereinzelt und punktuell fachmännische Retuschen erkennbar. Insgesamt sehr gut. Ausgesprochen pittoreske Ansicht in lockerem Duktus.

He is known for his views of Rio and its surroundings, which he often painted from his home in Niterói. - In this atmospheric and warmly lit scene, Coculilo captures the Corcovado mountain, on which the monumental statue of Christ, the city's landmark, stands since 1931. - Partially slightly yellowed varnish, traces of framing and small hole in left margin, slight surface dusting, occasional and selective professional retouches visible under ultraviolet light. Overall very good. Exceptionally picturesque view in flowing ductus.
