Naturwissenschaften – Erste deutsche Ausgabe. - Nissen, ZBI 2012 (unter Houttuyn) - Anker 349 (unter Müller). - Wood 438: "This German edition is to the present time used as a valuable and dependable work of reference." Die Tafeln zusätzlich plano in Atlasband. - "It is based chiefly on the zoological section of M. Houttuyn's 'Natuurlyke historie', and like the latter, has not much in common with the edition mentioned of 'Systema naturae', apart from the Linnean classification" (Anker). Die Taf. zeigen Saugetiere (32), Vogel (28), Amphibien (12), Fische (11), Insekten (36), Korallen u.a. - Teils leicht braunfleckig, insgesamt gutes, breitrandiges und teils unbeschnittenes Exemplar.

Title vign. and 159 folded engraved and the plates plano in the atlas volume. - First German edition. - Nissen, ZBI 2012 (under Houttuyn) - Anker 349 (under Müller). - Wood 438: 'This German edition is still used today as a valuable and reliable reference work.' The plates additionally plano in atlas volume. - It is mainly based on the zoological part of M. Houttuyn's 'Natuurlyke historie' and has not much in common with the aforementioned edition of the 'Systema naturae', apart from Linne's classification' (Anker). The plates show mammals (32), birds (28), amphibians (12), fish (11), insects (36), corals, etc. - Partly slightly brownstained, overall a good, wide-margined and partly uncut copy.
