V,980 - Sehr seltene Erstausgabe, dem Landgrafen Carl von Hessen gewidmet, der das aufwendige Werk vermutlich in Auftrag gegeben oder zumindest maßgeblich gefördert hat. Nur dieser erste Teil wurde veröffentlicht, und er behandelt hauptsächlich die Paläontologie. Der lateinische Haupttext, der sich ausführlich der wissenschaftlichen Literatur widmet, wird durch deutsche Zusammenfassungen ergänzt, die zusätzlich praxisorientierte Informationen zum Bergbau und Hüttenwesen liefern. Das von Cobres (II, 739) und Nissen geforderte Porträt von Wolfart ist entweder außerordentlich selten oder höchstwahrscheinlich nie erschienen, auch iExpl. im KVK nicht nachweisbar. - Teils etwas gebräunt.
