Es gibt praktische Ratschläge zur Vorbeugung und Behandlung der Pest sowie Methoden zur Bekämpfung von Giften und Vergiftungen. - Der "Kurtzer und warhaffter Bericht" von Aureolus Paracelsus (Philippus Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim) vermittelt ebenfalls, wie man die Pest aus dem "Liecht der Natur" erkennt und mit naturkundlichen und medizinischen Mitteln behandelt. Es handelt sich um eine mystisch-alchemistische Abhandlung, die kosmische und theosophische Prinzipien erläutert und die Erschaffung der Welt sowie ihre Gesetzmäßigkeiten nachvollziehbar machen will. Dabei die Betrachtung der Entstehung aller Dinge anhand eines kabbalistischen Weltbilds und der Macht des göttlichen Wortes ("Fiat") und Beschreibung und Systematisierung der Naturgesetze und okkulten Prinzipien auf 64 Seiten - häufig in symbolreicher Sprache und mit allegorischen Auslegungen versehen. It is characterised by a combination of practical recipes and philosophical reflections on nature, the spirit and the 'wonderful medicine' of the rational animal. The focus is on classic themes of alchemy such as the gold of life ('Aurum Vitae'), discussions on the human soul and its secrets, as well as recipes and curiosities from ancient manuscripts. The book contains seven half-pagewoodcut illustrations of: 'De Saturno - On Lead, De Jove -On Tin, De Marte - On Iron, De Venere - Or Copper, DeMercurio communi - On Common Mercury, De Sole - OnGold, De Luna, or On Silver', the work deals with theinfluence of the various planets on individual metals andsemimetals. - II./IIITwo previously published treatises on the plague by Paracelsus and the Viennese court physician Wilhelm Helm (Latinised as Pithopoeus) are printed with their own title pages.Wilhelm Pithopoeus' work 'Vincedoxicum' deals primarily with how to protect oneself against and cure rapidly occurring and dangerous diseases of pestilence or infection. It provides practical advice on the prevention and treatment of the plague, as well as methods for combating poisons and poisoning. The 'Kurtzer und warhaffter Bericht' (Short and True Report) by Aureolus Paracelsus (Philippus Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim) also explains how to recognise the plague from the 'light of nature' and treat it with natural and medicinal remedies. The target audience was the educated public of the Baroque period with an interest in Hermeticism, Kabbalah and esoteric alchemy. - All works of considerable rarity.
