Disegno del monumento in plastica eretto nella Chiesa di S. Francesco in Modena in memoria della preservazione di questa Città dal Cholera-morbus, eseguito da Luigi Mainoni (...) Mit 8 lithographischen Tafeln von Carlo und Pio Gustavo Goldoni, wovon 1 gefaltet, alle nach Federzeichnungen der Genannten sowie von G. Cavazzuti, sowie 1 lithographierten kalligraphischen Titel. Modena, Litografia Goldoni, 1840. 1 Bl. (Tit.), 23 (1, Errata) S. Gr.-4°. Pbd. d. Zt., früherer Deckenbezug mit floralen DGoldfileten darauf montiert (dieser stark lichtrandig, mit kleinen Randläsuren, etwas fleckig).

Kunstwissenschaften – Erste und einzige Ausgabe. - Reich mit prächtigen, durchwegs blattfüllenden Lithographien illustrierte Publikation über das Terrakotta-Denkmal von Luigi Mainoni anlässlich der erfolgreichen Bekämpfung der "Cholera morbus" in der Stadt Modena. Mit einer vorgebundenen gedruckten Widmung des Verlegers und Lithographen Pio Gustavo Goldoni für Luigi Reggianini, damals Bischof von Modena, und einer Abhandlung über die Bedeutung nebst einer ausführlichen Beschreibung des Denkmals von Antonio Peretti, damals Dichter am Hof von Franz IV, habsburgischer Herzog von Modena und Reggio. - Ohne den Umschlag mit lithographischem Umschlagtitel. Titelei und letzte Seiten leicht fingerfleckig, mitunter mit einzelnen kleinen Stockfleckchen, sonst wohlerhaltenes, auf festem Vélin breitrandig gedrucktes Exemplar.

Science of Art – With 8 lithographic plates by Carlo and Pio Gustavo Goldoni, of which 1 folded, all after pen and ink drawings by the aforementioned and by G. Cavazzuti, as well as 1 lithographed calligraphic title. - First and only edition richly illustrated publication with magnificent full-page lithographs on the terracotta monument by Luigi Mainoni on the occasion of the successful fight against the 'Cholera morbus' in the city of Modena. With a pre-bound printed dedication by the publisher and lithographer Pio Gustavo Goldoni to Luigi Reggianini, then Bishop of Modena, as well as a treatise on the monument together with a detailed description of its components by Antonio Peretti, then poet at the court of Francis IV, Habsburg Duke of Modena and Reggio. - Without the original publisher's lithographic paper cover. Title page and last pages slightly finger-stained, occasionally with a few small foxing spots, otherwise a well-preserved copy, skilfully printed on voluminous wove paper with wide margins.
