Architektur – Sehr selten, nur ein Exemplar im internationalen Handel für uns nachweisbar. Zweite deutsche Ausgabe nach der ersten von 1602 in Frankfurt. Books on Art II, 1575. - Beeindruckendes Werk, das sich mit imaginären Festungsanlagen und Stadtplänen befasst. Die außergewöhnlichen Tafeln zeigen surreale anmutende Festungsanlagen und visionäre Entwürfe für Gebäude, so u.a. ein dreizehnstöckiger Bau mit Skulpturen auf dem Dach, Urnen und Brunnen, der an moderne Wolkenkratzer erinnert. - Eine Tafel mit zeitgen. hs. Annotationen. Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt. Vereinzelt leicht fleckig. Insgesamt wohlerhalten. Selten.

Cont. paperback using a rubricated antiphonary leaf (rubbed, bumped and stained, spine pasted over). - Second German edition after the first published in Frankfurt in 1602. The first French edition was published in Paris in 1601. - Impressive work dealing with imaginary fortifications and city plans. The plates show surreal-looking fortifications and visionary designs for buildings, including a thirteen-storey building with sculptures on the roof, urns and fountains, reminiscent of modern skyscrapers. - One plate with contemporary handwritten annotations. Some browning due to paper. Occasionally slightly stained. Overall well preserved. Rare.
