Architecture. Französische Handschrift mit kalligraphiertem und mit 1 lavierten Federzeichnung versehenem Titelblatt, sowie 12 ganz- und 5 halbseitigen lavierten Federzeichnungen. O. O. (Paris) u. J., um 1870. 29, wovon 24 überwiegend einseitig beschriebene Bll. 2°. Dunkelbraunes Chagrin d. Zt. (Etikett "Chézaud & Braulart") mit goldgeprägtem Rückentitel, Deckel- und Innenkanten, umseitigen Goldschnitt und Vorsätzen aus gemustertem Seidenpapier.

Architektur – Von feiner Hand ausgeführtes Manuskript beihaltend Beispiele französischer, europäischer und außereuropäischer Architektur verschiedener Epochen. Enthält 12 Blätter mit je einer ganzseitigen, sowie weitere 12 mit je einer halbseitigen in schwarz und in Grautönen lavierten, untertitelten Federzeichnung, die letzteren darunter mit zweispaltigen kalligraphischen Erläuterungstexten. Im Anhang ferner 4 Tabellen mit verschiedenfarbig aquarellierten Spalten. Die Zeichnungen zeigen zunächst Bauwerke aus Ägypten, China (Poste militaire près de Chokian), Mexiko und der europäischen Antike (u.a. Parthenon, Athen, Tempel von Segesta, Sizilien). Ein zweiter Teil ist chronologisch und nach den Stilen Romanisch und Gotisch (franz. "style ogival") geordnet und enthält Beispiele französischer Zivil,- Militär, und vor allem Sakralarchitektur. Zu sehen sind u.a. das Portal der Kathedrale Saint-Trophime in Arles, die Kathedralen von Aachen und Metz, sowie das Grabmal von Franz I in der Basilika Saint-Denis. Der Untertitel "Première Classe" lässt auf eine Schülerarbeit schließen. - Der Einband mit leichten Kratzspuren und minimalen Verfärbungen, die Vorsätze mitunter etwas stockfleckig, Vorsätze teils gering fingerfleckig.

Architecture – Skillfully drawn and calligraphed French manuscript containing examples of French, European and Non-European architecture, in a elaborated full shagreen binding of Chézaud &b Braulart, Paris. Contains 12 leaves, each with 1 full-page pen and wash drawing and further 12 half-page drawings of the same sort, all captioned in pen and ink, the latter with explanatory texts in 2 columns down below. An appendix consists of 4 tables with water-coloured columns in different colours. The drawings show buildings from Egypt, China (Poste militaire près de Chokian), Mexico and European antiquity (including the Parthenon, Athens, Temple of Segesta, Sicily). A second section is organised chronologically and according to the Romanesque and Gothic styles (French 'style ogival') and contains examples of French civil, military and, above all, religious architecture, the portal of Saint-Trophime cathedral in Arles, the cathedrals of Aachen and Metz and the tomb of Francis I. in Saint-Denis among others. Subtitled 'Première Classe' the manuscript seems to the work of a student. - Binding slightly scratched and minimally sun-stained, endpapers occasionally somewhat foxed, endpapers at times with finger stains.
